Budgam, Mar 28 (KNO): Local residents in Budgam have raised serious concerns over the deteriorating condition of roads near the under-construction ring road and overpasses, citing significant inconvenience and safety risks for commuters and drivers. Speaking to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), people alleged that since the agency in charge of execution began construction of overpasses and the ring road, the roads surrounding these passes are in mess, severely impacting both commuters and the locals. Adil Ahmad, a local resident of Nagam Chadoora while criticizing the authorities for the lack of maintenance. He expressed, “The large potholes near the overpasses have caused damage to several vehicles. The national highway authorities should have repaired the road stretch to ensure smooth commuting.” Younis Ahmad, a driver, highlighted the safety risks posed by the poor road conditions. He emphasized, “Vehicles frequently break down on these roads, posing risks to commuters. The condition of roads is alike Gudsathoo Crossing, Wathora Crossing, and Crossing on Khansahib road.” Shakir, a resident of Buchroo Chadoora, stated, "The state of these roads is so terrible that even passengers in vehicles find them intolerable, and we have no idea about the state of patients and ambulances.” Local residents have appealed to the administration to intervene and urge the national highway authorities to expedite the macadamization of the roads—(KNO)
